Self Defense

Basic Real-World Self-Defense

The basic self-defense class serves as an introduction to protecting yourself in real- world situations. The discussion portion (30 minutes) emphasizes awareness of your surroundings and techniques to identify indicators of threats and how to avoid dangerous situations altogether. In the practical portion (2.5 hours), you will learn foundational striking and grappling techniques.

Intermediate Real-World Self-Defense

The intermediate self-defense class builds upon the techniques learned in the basic class. You will learn how to use more of your body to protect yourself and inflict damage. During the discussion portion (30 minutes), you will learn how to use your surroundings and environment to maintain visuals on potential threats. You will learn how to utilize your surroundings to maintain a good defensive position. During the practical portion (2.5 hours), you will learn how to defend yourself when attacked from behind and how to maneuver yourself to maintain an advantageous fighting position. We will take everything learned in the basic class and expand on it to become more efficient, and introduce new strikes and grapples, allowing you to use your entire body whether on offense or defense.

Advanced Real-World Self-Defense

The advanced self-defense class builds upon the basic and intermediate classes, teaching you to defend yourself in situations where you are at a significant disadvantage. You will learn how to defend yourself from multiple attackers and when your environment restricts your movement. During the discussion portion (30 minutes) you will learn how to utilize your surroundings to mitigate the threat of multiple attackers and what to do if you are pinned against a wall or the floor. During the practical portion (2.5 hours) you will be placed in a variety of scenarios and learn how to maneuver out of them while inflicting maximum damage to the attacker(s).

CCW Items to Bring

CCW Items to Bring:

  • Pistol
  • Outside the Waistband Holster (OWB). No leather or fabric holsters. You must be able to re-holster your pistol with one hand.
  • 3 Magazines and Mag Pouches
  • Eye and ear protection
  • Wear clothing suitable for the weather and being outdoors
  • Pants with a sturdy belt
  • Closed-toe shoes
  • Water/snacks

CCW Items to Bring:

Firearm Safety and Fundamentals

This course is designed for those who are new to firearms and want to learn the basics. This course will build the students understanding of how to safely handle and use a firearm and also meets the MD Handgun Qualification License (HQL) training requirements.

MD Concealed Carry and Wear (CCW)

This course covers the required training to receive your MD CCW and HQL permits. Upon receipt of your MD CCW permit, you are eligible to apply for your non-resident AZ and PA permits giving you 39 states you can conceal carry in.

Pistol 1

This is the first course in our series designed to build and improve pistol shooting skills. Students will learn firearm safety, fundamental shooting skills, and begin to build a process to increase their accuracy and speed.

Topics covered in this course include:

  • Firearm safety
  • Working from a holster
  • Fundamental shooting techniques
  • Techniques to load, unload, and reload a pistol
  • Clearing common malfunctions
  • How to effectively engage targets

Course Specific Items to Bring:

  • 250 rounds of ammunition

Pistol 2

This is the second course in our series designed to build and improve pistol shooting skills. Students will learn firearm safety, fundamental shooting skills, and continue to build a process to increase their accuracy and speed.

  • Increasing accuracy at distance
  • How to effectively engage multiple targets

Pistol 3

Defensive Pistol

This is the first course in our series designed to build and improve defensive pistol shooting skills. Students will learn firearm safety, fundamental and defensive shooting skills, and begin to build a process to increase their accuracy and speed for real world applications.

  • Working from a holster
  • Fundamental shooting techniques
  • Working from concealment
  • Moving and shooting
  • Shooting around cover/concealment

Course Specific Items to Bring:

  • 300 rounds of ammunition
  • Shirt or jacket that can be worn to cover an Outside the Waistband Holster

Close Quarters Pistol

Most self-defense shooting occur within contact or near contact distances, about seven feet. This course is designed to teach students how to engage those targets effectively. Students will learn firearm safety, hone the fundamentals, and putting rounds on target from full extension, compressed, and recessed shooting positions.

Dynamic Pistol

This course is designed to teach students how to get shots on target while moving. This is a fast passed course designed for advanced level shooters. Students will learn firearms safety, hone the fundamentals, and be pushed to increase their speed and accuracy while moving.

Tactical Training

Combat Tactics and Patrolling

Combat Tactics and Patrolling covers the fundamentals required for any combat
operation. You will learn how to move as a team, respond to enemy forces, and how to
patrol in a tactical manner.

Student-Provided Items:

  • Pants and Long-Sleeved shirt

Surveillance and Reconnaissance

Train to locate and observe enemy forces, suspects, and people of interest without
being observed. Learn how to blend in with your environment and locate enemy forces
without being observed.

Close Quarters Battle (CQB)

Learn the tactics needed when operating inside of a building or close space. You will
learn how to enter a building or room and engage any threats that may be there. Strong
teamwork is essential and will be a main focus for this course.
